One of the most common calls I get is when someone gets a new DELL computer and they want me to come in and clean off a lot of the “junk” that comes pre-installed (and by the way, it is not just DELL who does this, but all major computer companies, such as IBM, HP and Compaq).

Well, it now looks like I am out of a job. Someone else, so fed up with the crap that gets pre-installed has written a program to do an automatic clean up of a DELL system.

Once you have Norton, McAfee, AOL etc. removed, don’t forget to install:
• AVG Anti-Virus - AntiVirus
• Mozilla FireFox - Web Browser
• Picasa - Photo Manager (no need to install software that comes with your digital camera)
• OpenOffice - Office Software to replace Microsoft Office and/or WordPerfect
• TempCleaner - My FREE software for cleaning up the Windows Temp folder

Just because all this software is FREE, doesn’t mean its junk. Some of the best software on the web is FREE.

It came to me the other day that it seems a lot of people drive around on the weekends looking for Yard Sales and that it sure would be nice if there was somewhere you could go to find out where the sales are, so you don’t have to drive all over the place.
