Staying Organized

Just a few days ago Google announced their web based calendar application, “Google Calendar“, so what did I do, I signed up!

If anyone is looking for a good way to organize appointments and events, Google Calendar does a great job. Up until I signed up with them, I was using 30Boxes, which is also very good and really the only reason I jump on-board with Google was to keep my information consolidated. You see, I predict, in the next year or so, Google will have an on-line version of Outlook to compete with Microsoft.

I still use a Desktop application called Sunbird from Mozilla, for most of my calendar stuff, but I need a web based solution so I can check my calendar from any computer, anywhere.

Probably the best part about having your calendar on-line is that you can share events with others. For example, Flo has all of her soccer games entered into her calendar and shared so I can see them. Now I don’t have to bug her to find out when her next game is. Likewise I’ve shared with her, what nights and weekends I’m coaching volleyball.

Another nice feature of the Google Calendar is that you can have it e-mail you reminders when you have appointments. Very handy.

So if any of you Googlers out there, especially ones who already have GMail want to take it for a test ride, give it a go, I think you’ll like it.

Happy Easter
Paul

  • Oh oh, I may be out of work!

Someone finally wrote an application to clean up a new Dell computer from all the crap they come pre-installed with. This is pretty much what I do for people who get new machines, but now this could put me out of business!!! Shhhh, don’t tell anyone.

    Check it out here…

WARNING: I am not recommonding this to anyone as I have not tried it out yet. If you want to try it, your’e on your own…
