On Sunday some of my co-workers and I took part in the annual CIBC Run for the Cure, to help raise money for breast cancer research. Here is a little video I shot…

I came across this really fun site called “Type Racer“. You can log in without an account if you want to try it out.
My first “test” I did 57 wpm, which I thought was really good. I haven’t tested my typing speed since I took the course back in 1987! I then ran a random race against a group of people and came in 3rd with 65 wpm.
Have some fun with this and invite your friends to join you for a friendly little race!
A good site also for those learning to type better. Pass it on…

So I haven’t been to TomGreen.com in a while and thought I’d go see what he is up to. I had really been enjoying watching him take the Internet to a whole new level of entertainment and having the guts to do this.
To my dismay, when I arrived at TomGreen.com I was greeted by a prompt to enter my e-mail address. Not thinking much of it, I tried some of the other links on the page and they all do the same thing. You can’t even get to the “contact Tom” page without entering an e-mail address.
Now it says they are only asking for your e-mail so they can notify you when the next live show is, but come on, you don’t “require” that. Just put a friggin button on your page that says “Notify Me When Tom is Live!”.
Tom, I don’t know who is telling you this is a good thing to do, but it is totally WRONG! You of all people should not be demanding personal information from YOUR FANS. Are you going all corporate on us Tom?!
What’s next, are you going to demand a subscription payment to watch Tom Green Live?
Do the right thing, open up your site and allow people to submit their e-mail to you, of their own free will.

I thought this was a joke when I first heard about it, but apparently in various cities special parking is set aside for “hybrid” owners? WTF! Just because you are saving money on fuel doesn’t mean you can’t walk across a parking lot, like the rest of us.
This is absolutely stupid. Those reserved spaces should be for the people who need them, ie. mothers-to-be, handicapped persons and people who have trouble walking.
Now I find out, they are doing this in my area too. Dartmouth Crossing, a new retail park has implemented it in some locations. See photo here by Kris Griffon.
So do people actually sit around a room and come up with ideas like this? Also, if I were a hybrid owner, I’d be too embarrassed to park there…

This morning I received an e-mail from the QEII Foundation regarding their Home Lottery, which I usually buy tickets on to help support their cause, as well, get a big friggin manson.
Now, I’m not a programmer, wait… yes I am, but is there something very wrong with this e-mail? It is addressed to Sheldon Pothier! So If I got his, who got mine? Anyone else out there get an e-mail from the lottery addressed to the wrong person?
To Mr. Bill Bean: Did anyone test this mail shot before sending it out? Apparently not.
Good thing no personal information was in this e-mail! Other than a buyer number…
